Received a YouTube Claim?
StreamKitty’s music is 100% cleared for monetization. Because our catalog is registered in YouTube’s Content ID system to prevent unauthorized re-uploads, YouTube may automatically place a standard claim on your video or livestream VOD.
This is NOT a copyright strike and will NEVER harm your channel.
Here’s how to release your claim safely & immediately:
Go to YouTube Studio > Content and click See Details next to the claim.
Click Dispute and select “License” (or Permission) as your reason.
Copy and paste this statement into the text box (you can remove the quotes):
LAST STEP:
Sign your legal name, then hit Submit.
YouTube holds all ad revenue in escrow while the claim clears (usually 24 – 48 hours). If anything takes longer than four days, please email us immediately and we’ll find out what’s up. THANKS!

Who/What is StreamKitty?

StreamKitty is a human-driven music project consisting of two longtime friends: Chris & Rory. We make mostly instrumental copyright-safe / free-to-use music for YouTubers / content creators, livestreamers, gaming studios, independent filmmakers, classrooms, and wellness practices.
How is StreamKitty’s music made?
Our music is made primarily by me (Chris) with occasional contributions from Rory and other close friends of ours. Between all of us, we have decades of experience with real instruments, including drums, guitar, bass, piano/keyboards, vocals, DJing/scratching, and full-scale digital audio production.
Every track of ours is curated, arranged, and finalized by us, though we sometimes experiment with different tools to enhance and speed up our workflow. As of April 2026, we’ve shared some short behind-the-scenes videos on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram to show parts of our creative process. We plan on showing more, time-permitting. Our new Studio/Gear page also highlights the equipment, software/plugins, and environments we use daily and nightly.
What about your artwork? It looks AI-generated.
For our album artwork and videos, we use a mix of tools, including AI-assisted generation, to achieve the visual style we like best, for StreamKitty. Early releases of ours used stock vector images from Freepik (now known as Magnific), but these tools give us more control over mood, color, and consistency across multiple (and frequent) releases. Every piece is guided by our creative vision, and we’re always open to collaborating with artists who connect with our style.
SK Usage (what you CAN do with our music)
stream our tracks or playlists on repeat, as background music in your livestreams (chat, gaming, etc.)
stream our tracks or playlists on repeat while studying, relaxing, or to help you sleep or reduce your anxiety (Teachers & educators: we have plenty of great music for your classrooms and students, too)!
use our original downloadable tracks in your edited YouTube videos, as background music, as long as you place this block of text somewhere in your video description, before publishing your video:

SK Usage (what you CANNOT do with our music)
You are NOT allowed to…
- resell our tracks
- claim them as your own original compositions
- upload them (unmodified OR pitch-changed/tempo-changed) to a distributor and enter them into Content ID (you don’t want the legal headache that follows, if you do)
- record singing/rapping (any vocals) over our tracks, nor release a vocal-version as an original composition (though you may use them to practice songwriting or rapping on your own, privately!)
- release our music as a single or as part of an album
- turn your Twitch channel (or YouTube channel) into a music radio station and just play it. There is no reason for you to do this, as it’s already free on all streaming platforms.
Contact us for licensing if you’d like to use it in your games, movies, tv shows, etc – [email protected] or [email protected].
Can I use StreamKitty’s music on my podcast or any other type of content?
Yes! Our music is made for you to enjoy as a fan, or to use as background music in any kind of content. We do appreciate a thank you or some type of credit in your video or podcast summary, though. This music is all for you 🙂
Is StreamKitty safe for YouTube/Twitch/TikTok?
YOUTUBE & YOUTUBE SHORTS
Every single original StreamKitty track has been catalogued so as to not permanently de-monetize your regular video, with YouTube’s Content-ID system and other audio fingerprinting services. You might receive a notification that copyrighted content is found, but that is NOT a strike against your channel (it’s a claim, and it’s totally ok!). We can release the claim if you reach out to us and let us know who you are (please let us know who you are, and what your YouTube channel is!). If your YouTube Studio says you cannot monetize your video because our music has been detected, please either Dispute the claim easily using the instructions at the top of this page, or escalate using the form up there. Email us at [email protected] with any details and screenshots you can provide. We will quickly help you resolve any weird issues that may come up. Our goal is to keep you happy, and monetized!
As for YouTube Shorts, any Short longer than 60 seconds may get your video blocked, no matter what music you use. If you keep it under 60 seconds, you should be fine (as of spring 2026). Check with YouTube if you’re unsure about anything. Shorts policies change constantly.
As of August 31st 2026, we finally have free downloads available through the brand-new website CopyrightSafeMusic.com, so you can use any you’d like, in an edited (normal) YouTube video, in a livesrream, or your game or film.
TWITCH
Every original StreamKitty track has been confirmed as safe to use with Twitch. You might run into some occasional VoD mutes due to their sub-par audio recognition system (Audible Magic, Twitch’s version of YT’s Content-ID). This will occasionally happen with any copyright-safe music. If you want to guarantee zero mutes in your VoDs, make sure you utilize a “VoD Audio Track” inside OBS that will remove your music before the VoD is posted on your channel.
TIKTOK
Short answer, kind of. Long answer: TikTok’s music TOS is always changing and currently any TikTok longer than 60 seconds that has music on it gets muted. Currently, there is no route around that with any music. Keep it under 60 seconds and you should be ok!
FACEBOOK / INSTAGRAM
You should be fine, but sometimes their terms change without our knowledge. If you have any issues with Meta Platforms, please contact us directly at [email protected] and we’ll figure it out. Meta uses something called the Meta Rights Manager, which is completely different than YouTube and Content ID.
What about StreamKitty’s lofi covers? Are they also free to use?
YOUTUBE / TWITCH / TIKTOK / IG / FACEBOOK
Short answer: nope. We didn’t write those songs!
We just enjoy sharing our interpretations of songs we love and doing lofi covers of them, since millions of people love lofi covers.
Covers are also a great way to help an artist get discovered, so we put them out from time to time. We always put a disclaimer on our YouTube cover videos and our Spotify playlists featuring covers explaining that they are not free-to-use for your content, but you can always simply enjoy them on all streaming platforms.
As far as downloads go, only our original tracks will be available (for obvious reasons!).
August 2025 update: we removed the lofi covers from our lofi playlists on Spotify, and created a new one, simply called “Lofi Covers by StreamKitty.”
July 2026 update: Sometime in the future, we’ll be removing ALL of our lofi covers but don’t worry! They will be back. We’ll be re-releasing them shortly after they disappear, as two different new artist names, but not “StreamKitty”. We are keeping StreamKitty for only our original music. Any news about this, you’ll see everywhere… our blog right here, YouTube community posts, YouTube videos, Bluesky posts, Facebook posts, IG/Tiktok posts, the whole nine.
